Biography

Vance is a native of Southern California.  He works in many mediums and on many surfaces. His paintings on black leather jackets cannot be equaled. He is a creature of his times, excelling in tattooing and now moving into the area of painted shoes.

Vance finds inspiration in the comic book world, movies, and music. Shown on these Webpages is his own original art and art that is inspired by James O'Barr, Anita Blake, Drew Struzan, Stan Lee, and other artists. The art forms of classic horror movies and music provide further inspiration.

Vance is a dedicated artist, and as a foundation to his art he has learned from various celebrated artists of the past such as Alphonse Mucha (1860-1939), the man behind the French Noveau movement of the turn of the century called then "the Mucha Style."  Mucha was very much in demand, which is also true of Vance.  A sentiment of both men was given words by Mucha, "My art (is) in fashion.  My only recollection of all this is of being exhausted."
